Prefill fields from url-parameters
Description
(Describe what you would like to be implemented on the site :
- some context for everyone to understand you use case
I want to be able to run a form for purposes of citizen-data collection.
People will explore a website, and they can report information about things they see on the website.
Let's make an example for book reviews. The website has a list of books. Clicking on a book (ie: "Programming in PHP") will give you details (cost, number of pages, author). You can also click on a link to add your opinion about it.
Now, this is very easy to do, but then the people which fills the form will need to clarify what book they are reviewing. This is complicated and error-prone.
- how the site behaves now.
I can provide link to the form right now.
- what behavior you would ideally like.
I'd like to share a link to a form in which some fields are pre-filled based on URL parameters.
For example, if https://framaforms.org/book-reviews-123457890 is the link to the form, I'd like to be able to add ?prefill_bookid=42&prefill_title=ProgrammingInPHP
to prefill the relevant fields in the form.
It would be perfect if the field is not just pre-filled, but also becomes read only: the user cannot edit the answer anymore.
Is it possible?
What this feature would look/feel like
While having a nice UI would of course be better, I don't think this is mandatory, because at least in my usecase I wouldn't want to use this: I would create such links with code, not with a web interface.
Technical Documentation will be enough.
(optional) Technical consideration
I guess this would mean that every question must have some form of ID. it doesn't need to be meaningful or customizable, but it does need to be stable.
One question is: can any field be prefilled? Can it cause any problem? I can't foresee any problem, so I don't think that the user who runs the form should actually do anything to allow a field to be pre-filled.
