Application time reported by --cfg=smpi/display-timing:yes is wrong
When the option --cfg=smpi/display-timing:yes
is used, the "application time" displayed at the end of the simulation is often greater than the "simulation time", which should not be possible.
Here is a sample output showing the issue:
The simulation took 0.470397 seconds (after parsing and platform setup)
2.98067 seconds were actual computation of the application
A git bisect
shows that commit 96639a95 is responsible.
To reproduce, take this simple MPI program (note that this happens with many others):
Compile and run (using file cluster_fat_tree.xml):
smpicc bcast.c -o bcast
smpirun -platform ./cluster_fat_tree.xml --cfg=smpi/simulate-computation:1 --cfg=smpi/display-timing:yes -np 16 ./bcast
