building with make should work even from a release tarball
Makefile contains currently this line:
CGO_ENABLED=0 go build -buildvcs=false -ldflags "-s -X main.version=`git tag --sort=v:refname | tail -n1` -X main.commit=`git rev-parse --short HEAD`"
This means running make
will fail when issued from a release tarball, which is problematic for packaging.
I think main.version
and main.commit
values should be hardcoded in the makefile or look at a static file contained in the repo instead of calling git commands.
