upmpdcli seems to interfere with Kazoo’s ability to operate Tidal
I'm aware Tidal has been a bit of a bugbear for sometime and sorry for my lateness have just seen: #81 (closed). It transpires Tidal can be accessed directly from the Linn Kazoo app, which handles all aspects of the login authentication process itself.
While this has meant I’ve successfully been able to get it to work on several DLNA devices (acting as OpenHome renderers, created with BubbleUPnP server) when upmpdcli runs on the same network I’ve been unable to obtain any sound from Tidal, playback doesn’t function. However, I’ve established that this can be resolved by stopping the upmpdcli service.
Please, I’m not sure whether this is a big ask. I’ve got it into my head that this issue is being caused by upmpdcli comprising now defunct code to enable access via Tidal’s former login process – if so, is there any chance this could be removed? Maybe this is purely down to upmpdcli.conf, but in respect of Tidal I haven’t made any alterations to this, all of its parameters remain commented out. Incidentally, I’m using the bullseye version of upmpdcli (1.6.2) on a pi.
