Feature Request - Respect .gitignore
Hi, I've been testing recoll out on my home folder, but I have a problem:
Some of the files that get indexed are source code i've worked on, but that source code also has downloaded dependencies. I would not like to search through those dependencies when using recoll, since there is a lot of code in them and I don't care about it. A search for a simple word now tends to bring up a myriad of results from these dependencies which I am not interested in. Based on propper git practices however, these dependencies are .gitignored. So, is there a chance you could make recoll respect .gitignores? It also seems like a nice way in general to exclude certain files/folders from the search, regardless of whether you intend to use version control or not (or maybe it should be called .recollignore). I know there are tools specifically for searching through source code that do this (like the silver searcher), but those can't read pdf's and all the other nice things going for recoll. I also don't want to exclude my source code directory. I would just like to remove clutter from recoll's search results really.
