Size of database worrying
System HZ 8.4 - Apache 2.5.56 - PHP 8.1.13 - no root access.
**I am self-hosting HZ, v 8.2 first, now v 8.4.
In the first 6 weeks my DB grew to more than 2.5 GB. ** This started worrying me, so i had PHPMyAdmin optimize the tables. A few days later HZ crashed (unclear, if related to DB size and/or optimizing) I ended up having to install from scratch.
Now the DB is already up at 1.2 GB after only 7 days. I do have /admin/site "Expiration period in days for imported (grid/network) content" set to 4 days, however it don't look like it is doing much. I suspect the public stream as one big source of size issues, among that espcially images - and i have several questions:
Is DB size sthg. that should be watched?
If so, what can be done against DB size issues?
Can i prevent a public stream from writing to DB at all and instead just watch a sort of live stream, that expires posts from th DB aftr just a few hours unless i interact?
Do we have an option to batch delete posts with media files (images) from public stream posts?
The same would be helpful for posts of connections.
Alternatively, do we have an option to not store media files in DB at all?
I'd like to keep my own media files.
I can't find much help in /help there, and would be greatful for pointers.
Thank you in advance!
