Cannot install recent versions of stog on recent OCaml versions?
In my 4.06.1 switch, opam install stog
proposes the following version set:
- install result 1.3 [required by topkg]
- install camlp4 4.06+1 [required by config-file]
- install ocamlnet 4.1.4 [required by stog]
- install topkg 0.9.1 [required by xmlm]
- install ulex 1.2 [required by higlo]
- install config-file 1.2 [required by stog]
- install xmlm 1.3.0 [required by stog]
- install xtmpl 0.10 [required by stog]
- install higlo 0.4 [required by stog]
- install stog 0.14.0
(It is a bit frustrating to still depend on camlp4 today, and it would be nice if this dependency could be removed.)
The build of stog 0.14.0 fails with the following error:
### checking required tools and libraries ###
checking for xmlm... Package xmlm found with version v1.3.0, but wanted >= 1.1
Trying to explicitly install stog 0.17.1 (the most recent opam-packaged release) results in the following error message:
$ opam install stog.0.17.1
The following dependencies couldn't be met:
- stog -> xtmpl >= 0.16.0 -> js_of_ocaml < 3.0 -> ocaml < 4.05.0
Would it be possible to make a new xtmpl
release that supports newer js_of_ocaml releases, to unblock installing stog on 4.06?
