What is Yakforms
Yakforms allows you to create forms and to share them with your friends, family and public. It is designed to be an alternative to Google Forms, and you'll be able to set up your form quickly and easily, get answers from the people you shared it with, and collect and download the submissions.
The original instance of Yakforms is maintained by Framasoft, and available at framaforms.org. Feel free to sign up and mess around with it to explore its potential.
All information concerning the installation can be found here. It's basically similar to installing Drupal 7.
Make sure you meet the requirements, and if you manage to make the software work safely with a different environment (for example with MySQL and Apache instead of Postgres and NGINX), make sure to tell us, either by opening an issue, or on our forum.
Need it in another language ? Please refer to this wiki page to know more about the internationalization process of Yakforms.
All done ? You might want to change your site's settings.
Yakforms is based on Drupal 7, along with several modules. At the heart of Yakforms is the
webform module, which provides the form displaying features, along with the
form builder module, which allows easy, intuitive, drag-and-drop creating of the forms. Both of these (as well as Drupal 7) are distributed under the AGPLv2 license.
Along with these modules (and a lot of others), some custom codebase was developped to make Yakforms a complete form-management service.
You can find more details about the Yakforms code base here :
- Modifications : homemade, dirty alteration of the Drupal core to fix some issues. We tried to keep these as rare as possible, but some modifications couldn't be intergrated to the upstream code.
