[Suggestion] On Search UI and Send button
Search input field currently appears at the top of the main screen, above the usual UI elements of the main feed view. Search does not show results below in the main feed as user types.
One of the interface elements of the main feed view is the “Send” button On my screen, it looks quite large.
Numerous times, after typing the search query into the search input field, I found myself tapping that button to get the search results. I guess I percieve it as a “default action” button. Naturally, it didn't trigger the searcd and, more so, caused my search input to irrecoverably disappear.
I suggest either redisplaying it as “Search” button while the search input field is active, or, alternatively, make the search results appear as user types, below the input field (in that case, it might still make sense to redefite default action and redisplay the button). The latter approach, however, would require bringing the 4 tabs there too, and thus I suspect it'd look quite messy. I also find such search UIs slower and more distracting than the straightforward ones but maybe it's worth it to implement both and give user a choice. Overall, redisplaying Send button as Search button whire the search input is active seemn like a better idea.
Why it'd be useful: e.g., on Hacker's keyboard, the Enter button that would trigger the search, is quite small, and keyboard itself is located very far (at maximal possible distance, in fact) from the search input field. Having a larger button closer to the input field would certainly be an improvement.
