deleted accounts not handled gracefully when opening user profile
Issue
When attempting to view a remote profile on a Mastodon server if that server is returning 404 for https://server.tld/@profilename, the profile is reported as type "GNU" and no other indication of an error is given.
Steps for reproducing the issue
- Open an affected profile (in my case, by tapping on the user's avatar in a toot saved in favorites)
- The profile displays type 'GNU' and displays other information; however, opening in browser yields a 404
What I expect instead
- A spurious HTTP error which is not accompanied by whatever tombstone the remote server is expected to leave for a deleted account, etc., should be properly detected as an error condition and displayed to the user as such.
- A spurious HTTP error should not cause the profile to display server type as 'GNU'.
Instance: sinblr.com, loading a profile on humblr.social when that server is returning 404 to all profiles due to maintenance. NOTE these instances are NSFW.
