Build failure with recent pandoc
More recent versions of Pandoc break backward compatibility. I had three errors:
-
--chapters
has been removed. Use--top-level-division=chapter
instead. -
--latex-engine
has been removed. Use--pdf-engine
instead. -
--smart
/-S
has been removed. Use+smart
or-smart
extension instead.
For example:pandoc -f markdown+smart -t markdown-smart
.
Doing the suggested substitutions fixed the build for me for PDF and epub. For the HTML version, there was another warning:
- [WARNING] This document format requires a nonempty
<title>
element.
Please specify either 'title' or 'pagetitle' in the metadata,
e.g. by using--metadata pagetitle="..."
on the command line.
Falling back to 'intro'
To fix that one, I added the argument --metadata title="The Mediocre Programmer"
to the pandoc call.
My pandoc version:
$ pandoc --version
pandoc 2.5
Compiled with pandoc-types 1.17.5.4, texmath 0.11.1.2, skylighting 0.7.5
