feat(en): add magazine template for episodes 1 through 6

Ghost User requested to merge (removed):feat/en/magazine into master

I recently completed a project to print Pepper&Carrot, episodes 1 through 6, in magazine format using Scribus and the inspiration of the Krita book project in this repository.

There are two main reasons why I chose magazine format:

  • I preferred a comic book feel to the reading experience.
  • Magazines are cheaper to print, which means I won't worry if the magazine is damaged by my daughter after repeated use.

I'd like to contribute the magazine project file for episodes 1 through 6 to this repository under it's license terms, if y'all believe it would be valuable to do so.

To give y'all an idea of what the project looks like printed, here are a few pictures I took of the printed copy I just received:

The front cover came out great:

For the back I chose the full Pepper&Carrot logo on a white background. A white background seems to really complement the bright blue and greens from the cover. Also, I re-used the text from the Krita book.

When you first open the magazine you are presented with license and contribution information on the left side, and the title page for episode 1 on the right.

Every episode has a title page with the introduction pencil sketch at the center and each episode's corresponding title art at the top. I felt the pencil sketch, along with a solid white background, provided a clear delineation between episodes while not distracting from the episode title.

Here's artwork from a few different pages:

In addition to an episode title page, I also dedicated an entire page to the credits.

It felt important to recognize those who contributed to supporting your on-going work, and to educate readers as to what can be achieved through Open Source and Creative Commons.

Lastly, I chose to use the Coriander concept art for the inside back cover. I was thinking that I could switch it out with other character concept art in future magazines.

Please keep in mind that I've made a few changes so the project file so it differs from the photos:

  • Added page numbers to all inside pages.
  • Added an ISSN place holder.
  • Moved the title page image down a little.

I plan to make further adjustments to the project file now that I have the printed copy. I'd also like to incorporate any changes y'all might be willing to share.

One note I would like to add, I tried my best to ensure I included appropriate attribution on the copyright/license page. If you believe any content or artwork has not been properly attributed, or is not appropriate for inclusion in a printed magazine, please let me know. I would make the appropriate changes to the project file.
