Uploads not working and logging not giving any hints as to what is wrong (old Hubzilla version)
Hello.
I have a hub at https://hub.consumium.org. It was installed originally on another machine and the migration to the current server wasn't maybe done very proficiently (my bad).
I'm running Hubzilla 3.0.1 - 1198 on Debian 8 with PHP 5
Currently the uploading if images fails as follows:
The preview of the picture shows up just fine but hitting on the "upload" button does nothing.
This may be something to do with that I only recently moved some of the directories supposed to be residing in /var/www/hubzilla/store from another location where I had clumsily extracted them to (/var/www/store). /var/www/store/[data]/smarty3/compiled contains some entries from times after the clumsy migration. Should I merge these to /var/www/hubzilla/store/[data]/smarty3/compiled?
Since there have been writes in /var/www/store/[data]/smarty3/compiled after the migration from another server I may have Hubzilla confused about there the file storage is supposed to be.
In the .htconfig.php I have added 'DEBUG' and uncommented the following lines. Did I add the 'DEBUG' correctly?
error_reporting(DEBUG | E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE ); ini_set('error_log','php.out'); ini_set('log_errors','1'); ini_set('display_errors', '0');
Looking at 'php.out' with tail -f php.out
I see no error being printed when I try to click the final "upload"-button.
What is being printed into the php.out, apparently on every run of the cronjob is
[02-Aug-2018 21:50:03 Europe/Amsterdam] PHP Warning: file_put_contents(store/[data]/poller): failed to open stream: Is a directory in /var/www/hubzilla/Zotlabs/Daemon/Poller.php on line 33
/var/hubzilla/store/[data]/poller is owned by www-data and is writable. Maybe this is a clue as to what is wrong.
I'm confused since there are so many instructions out there. The Hubzilla hasn't been upgraded for a while since I ran into some errors trying to do it and gave up. The errors were probably due to that I originally installed the Hubzilla with git clone into the GitHub repo.
Another question is would an upgrade fix this "uploads not working problem" and how to go about upgrading from the FramaGit.org repo, I don't know.
I hope I expressed my troubles in an understandable way and detail.
Any help would be much appreciated. Hubzilla has some really great designs and these problems are probably due to my amateurish administration and maybe I could spill some blame to the documentation being scattered and incoherent on many occasions.
Kind regards, Juho Kunsola
ps. I'm attaching a screenshot of the admin view of my pod. Shouldn't there be some way to interact with the administrative settings in there?
