to recognize a dead site/hub/pod, so as not to send messages to those sites.

It would be nice that the system, on its own initiative, can recognize a dead site/hub/pod, so as not to send messages to those sites. We know that after 3 days the system desists to send, but if a user does not delete the contacts of dead sites, every time that he posts, the "game of 3 days" begins again. It needs something (like pinging a site?) to get the hub to not send those messages, or something that can automatically eliminate connections with contacts that "live" in dead sites. Currently in the hub that I'm helping to administer there are still messages in the queue that will never be delivered. And sometimes a site is not dead, but just turned into a site with different software (example: https://hub.digitalesecho.de and I have several messages for this site that is no longer hubzilla). ps: in the meantime I have warned all users to eliminate dead contacts, but, apparently, after a few days, it seems that few people have done this, and perhaps many of them will never do it. and also is not always easy to see our users' contacts list.
