This is the main repository of the source code generating the **[Green Instances List](https://greenfediverse.frama.io/green-instances)**. The data we use for this list is coming from two different projects. For the Fediverse instances we get data from **[the-federation.info](https://the-federation.info)** (see repository on **[github](https://github.com/thefederationinfo/the-federation.info)**). For the Green Check we get data from **[The Green Web Foundation (GWF)](http://www.thegreenwebfoundation.org/)**.
Then we let these two databases collide with each other! The script we wrote, which you can find here and also in our mirrored repository at [codeberg](https://codeberg.org/GreenFediverse), then runs the command to highlight all instances in green and provide the information we want in our list.

The project lives through its participation. To understand how it works and how to get involved, see [Greenfediverse on JoinFediverse Wiki - How it works](https://joinfediverse.wiki/GreenFediverse#How_it_works).

In the past, a lot of information about providers has already been collected by the community and added to the list.
