Precompile frontend artifacts to get rid of Node.js dependency in production
Hello,
I suspect Node.js is needed only to compile the frontend application. Is there any interest in producing install artifacts as part of the release process?
I suspect we could use Mobilizon CI system to run the various yarn commands and attach them to the tagged release.
Which is doable with the release-cli
provided by Gitlab (it's quite new).
This would help on small VMs, on which it's hard to build the "modern" flavour of the frontend with 1Gb, when the instance itself has 2Gb of memory.
What do you think? I could try to tackle something if that's a direction you'd like to investigate, but do not have the time/energy for.
