[Suggestion] Use a Python implementation of Torrent lib or provide a libtorrent binary add-on
Peertube use webtorrent to share video and audio, so this addon need to support torrent.
But the actual solution is not perfect: It require user to manually install a library (libtorrent). Unfortunately, this is not user friendly and on some operating systems, like OpenElec or Recalbox, it's not possible.
So, I suggest one of these 2 possible solutions:
- Use a pure Python implementation of a Torrent library
- Provide a build of libtorrent as a Kodi binary add-on
It would simplify the installation process and let operating systems like OpenElec or Recalbox use plugin.video.peertube addon.
For the first solution, I only found this:
- python-bittorent: No commit since 10 years
For the second solution, Kodi let build binary add-ons: https://kodi.tv/article/kodi-v18-binary-add-ons-repository
But I can't found a correct documentation about it.
What do you think ?
